Payroll

Our job in payroll is to ensure that you are paid accurately and on time every week.

When will you get paid?

We will arrange for your pay to be put directly into your bank account by BACS available for you on Friday morning and you should receive a payslip on the same day.

Bank holidays may sometimes cause delays in this process but we will make every effort to adhere to the Friday payday.

Payslips are subject to the Post Office delivering on time. Contact the payroll office if you wish to receive your payslip by e-mail.

What work will you be paid for?

Flex operates a system that starts on a Sunday and finishes at mid-night on Saturday. You will be paid for that week’s work on the following Friday. For certain clients the working week finishes on the Sunday night, but you will be told if that is the case.

At what rate will you be paid?

When you accept an assignment you will be told the rates of pay at that client site. Not all clients have the same rates or overtime arrangements. Make sure you have understood this information when you are contacted about a job.

Timesheets and signing in and out.

When you are asked to go to a client please make sure you have clearly understood any instructions you have been given about timesheets and any requirements about signing in and out. If this information is not acted on, your pay may be delayed.

We can only pay you for work that our client has authorised.

If you have to send in a timesheet, it is important that you make sure it is sent to us by lunch time on Mondays.

Failing to follow the clients signing in and out procedures is the single most common problem that causes a delay in the payment of your wages.

Tax and National Insurance.

Flex rigidly applies the UK tax rules.

When you start work with us, it speeds things up if you can provide a current P45. If not, you must complete a P46, which you can obtain from Flex’s local office or from the payroll department.

If you have problems with your tax code, we are not able to help you and you must talk to the tax office directly on 0845 3667842. Our reference is 190 EZ 25931.

Sick, Maternity, Paternity and other pay schemes.

Flex operates all these government schemes provided that you have met the relevant criteria. It is important that you let us know as soon as possible if you need to claim on these schemes.

Contacting Payroll.

You can contact us by phone on 01455-638087 or by fax on 01455-638081. When you contact us please have your ID number ready so that we may identify you and also the name of the client (and site) you are working at.
